Avril Lavigne takes Abbey Dawn fashion label online Friday

Avril Lavigne is going out on her own.

Two years ago the pop princess launched a juniors line called Abbey Dawn at Kohl’s. But on Friday, December 17th Lavigne will re-launch the line internationally on her own e-commerce site AbbeyDawn.com.

And she’s also expanding the collection with new product being introduced monthly, including sportswear, denim, dresses, activewear, loungewear, swimwear, shoes, handbags as well as a few men’s pieces (hoodies, T-shirts, caps).

She’s also selling the line in highly influential stores such as Trash and Vaudeville in New York and the Blue Banana chain in the United Kingdom.

Most youthquake stars anchor their apparel lines firmly with one retailer. Selena Gomez has Dream Out Loud exclusively at Kmart and Miley Cyrus’ collaboration with Max Azria is at Wal-Mart.

The line’s moniker comes from a childhood nickname Lavigne’s father gave her. The 26-year-old recently divorced op punker Deryck Whibley (of Sum 41 fame). Her fourth album “Goodbye Lullaby” comes out March 8, 2011. In the music video for the first release “What the Hell” – shot in 3D – she and her bandmates go shopping in a ficticious Abbey Dawn boutique.

Lavigne also has a Proctor & Gamble fragrance called Black Star.
