Leave it to the tabloid press and the knockoff industry to converge on a single issue: Whose Alexander McQueen dress from the royal wedding is more popular, Pippa Middletons or the one worn by her sister, Catherine Duchess of Cambridge?
The Cut blogs about the invented scandal:
[L]abels rushing to knock off Kates wedding dress — labels that had planned to knock it off all along — have also decided to knock off Pippas dress. Designed by Alexander McQueens Sarah Burton, like Kates dress, Pippas dress deserves a few qualifiers that are rare for a bridesmaids dress, such as pretty, not dumpy, elegant, and even chic. Hell, Cameron Diaz wore a very similar style in red on the red carpet in 2010. Those knocking off the royal wedding dress, like the label Favianas chief executive Omid Moradi, see the value in putting just as much energy into their Pippa as their Kate: “Bridesmaids’ dresses are generally ugly. Nobody wants to wear them,” Mr. Moradi said.
Davids Bridal ordered equal numbers of Favianas Kate and Pippa dresses, while JS Collections ordered more of the Pippa . Moradi thinks that the Kate will outsell the Pippa because she’s the princess!
We just hope this doesnt morph into sibling rivalry.
As we said a week ago, the Faviana knockoffs will have nothing on the originals in terms of care of design and quality of materials. But we suppose that fact wont impact the market for ripped-off royal designs.

I don’t like how Pippa’s dress looks from the back, although I’m sure many did
