Thanks to actor-turned-director Michael Rapaport, a trip to the movies can almost feel like going to a summer concert, minus the long lines at the bathroom. His feature film, BEATS, RHYMES, AND LIFE: THE TRAVELS OF A TRIBE CALLED QUEST, documents the path of the legendary hip hop crew from the beginning to the end, and then some. There are trends and then there are TRENDS.
That philosophy holds true in the world of beauty maybe more so than in any other industry.
In the domain of manicures, for example, there is the current trend (lowercase) of getting a single nail painted in one glittery color and the other nine nails in a completely different, nonglittery hue.
Cool, yes. Trendy? Yeah, pretty much.
Then there is the swell of women having their nails painted with “crackle” polish that, as it dries, separates into jagged lines and swirls, just like a piece of furniture painted to looked distressed.
Again, this is a trend (lowercase).

Since Sarah Jessica Parker, Harvey Weinstein and Marios Schwab left Halston, rumours have been running rampant about who their successors will be. Now, WWD is reporting that although he initially denied rumours of heading to Halston, Ben Malka, the former president of BCBG Max Azria Group, has been crowned as chairman and chief executive officer of the company.
In his 16 years at BCBG, Malka established the company in womenswear and built relations for BCBG with retailers like Bloomingdale’s, which—coincidentally—is stocking Halston for the first time this fall.

The only thing more amazing to admire than impeccably designed clothes, are beautiful drawings of these incredible garments. Fashion illustrator Danny Roberts possesses that one artistic talent we wish we all had, with just a pencil and paper he is able to create utterly unique and intriguing representations of real life beauty.
Since attracting a bucket load of attention back in 2008, when his online blog Igor + Andre began receiving the attention it deserved, Roberts impressive resume has undoubtedly more than doubled in length.
As a Californian in his twenties who has held a lifelong interest in arts and crafts, Roberts has certainly worked to reach his potential.
